Telemedicine at OAK

Beginning Monday, March 23rd, OAK began implementing telemedicine (virtual visits). This new care option will allow for patients to interact with OAK providers via a secure video platform. Our goal is to limit individual contact where we can, but at the same time, provide the same high-quality services that you expect from OAK .

Telemedicine refers to the practice of caring for patients remotely using live video visits. It allows our healthcare providers an additional way to evaluate, diagnose and develop treatment plans with a patient without the need for an in-person visit.

Telemedicine video visits allow our team to interview and complete a limited exam to increase accessible care options for our patients and to provide an innovative and convenient way for patients to interact with a physician or therapist.

What type of Telemedicine visits are available?

  • Initial Consultations
  • Follow Up Appointments
  • Post-Operative Visits
  • Physical & Occupational Therapy Initial Evaluations & Treatment Visits
  • Immediate Orthopedic Care Consultations

Physician Telemedicine Visits

OAK physicians will be utilizing a platform called doxy.me for telemedicine visits. For current patients, please contact your current OAK provider to schedule a virtual visit.

If you are a new patient, please contact your preferred office location and our care team will be glad to assist matching you with the right provider for your needs.

Physical & Occupational Therapy Telehealth Visits

Our expert team of physical and occupational therapists are here to ensure you maintain your health, and sense of consistency and normalcy. Through a combined approach to care, patients will now be able to supplement in-person therapy visits with telehealth options. OAK physical and occupational therapists will be utilizing Google Hangouts for all telehealth visits.

Telehealth visits allow our therapists to provide instruction on such topics as:

  • Exercise modifications
  • Posture modifications
  • Walking (gait) evaluations
  • Rest & sleep positioning recommendations
  • Evaluate wound and incision healing

If you are currently under the care of an OAK therapist, we will work with you and your provider to transition your plan of care to virtual visits.

For New Therapy Patients Early intervention telehealth visits of physical and occupational therapy can eliminate the need for unnecessary medication, surgery or imaging tests. While we find ourselves in unprecedented times, delaying treatment could result in additional expenses and prolonged recovery.

No prescription for therapy? No problem. Direct Access allows OAK therapists to provide evaluation and treatment to patients without referral from a physician. Don’t wait to receive the care you need, contact our offices or call 847-745-7281 to arrange a telehealth evaluation

Please contact our administrative team with specific questions regarding telehealth billing and payment.
