Athletic Training

OAK Orthopedics' Sports Medicine Department has created and established one of the finest athletic training relationships in the nation. Recognizing the major importance athletic trainers serve in the recognition, initial evaluation, and care of injuries, OAK Orthopedics is committed to establishing world-class athletic care in the high schools and colleges we serve. All of the athletic trainers that OAK Orthopedics works with are highly trained, degreed, and licensed in the state of Illinois. Many of the athletic trainers have served or interned with professional and/or national teams and now have come to work hand-in-hand with OAK Orthopedics.

Our OAK Sports Medicine Team is comprised of:

  • Team Physician(s)
  • Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainer (ATC/L)
  • Physician Assistant(s)
  • Physical Therapist(s)

The athletic trainer has the closest relationship with the athlete as he/she works with the athlete from the time of injury, through the rehab process, and until the athlete has met all requirements to return to play. They specialize in the health care of athletes and are very knowledgeable in various specialty areas. This allows them to effectively evaluate or refer the athlete to the proper physician specialty.
