COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Practice Update
March 23, 2020
OAK Orthopedic Patients,
In the midst of COVID-19 and in an effort to protect our patients, OAK Orthopedics is still open to provide the following services:
- Limited non-urgent appointment scheduling
- Emergency surgical procedures
- OrthoAccess to accommodate our patient’s urgent orthopedic care needs
- Establishing telemedicine visits for appropriate physician and physical therapy needs
For Established Patients With Non-Immediate or Urgent Care Needs
Due to the fluid nature of this situation, information pertaining to already scheduled visits or established care plans please contact our office.
If you are currently scheduled for a visit with OAK after March 20th, 2020, our team will contact you directly to determine the best course of action and follow up in accordance with your physician’s guidance and clinical needs.
OAK’s Immediate OrthoAccess clinic will remain open for urgent cases but will function on a reduced hours schedule of Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
Beginning Monday, March 23rd, we will begin implementing virtual visits, also known as telemedicine or telehealth. This new care option will allow for patients to interact with OAK providers via a secure video platform. Our goal is to limit individual contact where we can, but at the same time, provide the same high-quality services that you expect from OAK Orthopedics.
If at the time of a telemedicine evaluation the clinical team determines that there is an urgent issue, patients may arrange an in-office visit for necessary testing or treatment per the guidance of the treating provider.
Please contact our staff if a telemedicine visit is appropriate for your treatment plan.
OAK Orthopedics Community Protection
Our number one priority is to protect the health and well-being of our patients, staff, and community. In line with our values, the CDC, IDPH, and national guidelines, OAK along with IBJI will continue to provide high-quality, collaborative, office-based care.
Our team is diligently re-assessing the local impact of this regional and national emergency as it unfolds. We will try to stay in touch with you for care as you need it now, as well as planning for your future care needs. OAK continues to value the trust you place with our physicians and staff and will continue to provide the quality of care.
Please continue to monitor our website at oakortho.com for updates during this fluid time. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through this period in time.
